As readers will probably know, I like to feature in translation old books and other primary source materials from Iraq that are difficult to find and not available online. Below is my translation (together with the original pages) of a pamphlet prepared by the Planning Ministry about various projects undertaken in Diyala province as part of the temporary economic plan during the era in which Iraq was a republic under Abd al-Karim Qasim, who participated in the overthrow of the monarchy in 1958. I have included a few endnotes to explain some terms that occur in this pamphlet.
