The reports of interest in this week's issue of the Islamic State's al-Naba' newsletter primarily come from Africa, illustrating the importance of the group's affiliates in the continent to providing propaganda material about Islamic State insurgent activity around the globe. One notable report from this week's issue highlights the Islamic State's ongoing war with al-Qa'ida in the Sahel region, known by the name of Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wa al-Muslimin. The fighting between the two jihadist groups has not prevented an overall deterioration in the security situation for local governments. The other report of interest in this week's newsletter concerns da'wa (religious outreach activity) in Mozambique- an example of primitive governance for which the Islamic State spokesman commended the Mozambique affiliate.
Below are the reports translated. Any parenthetical insertions in square brackets are my own.
