Statement 35
Oh dignified people of Iraq,
Oh heroic revolutionaries,
Salam alaykum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatuhu.
We recall in these sorts of days a year ago how the government of oppression and tyranny directed all its might against the squares of pride/might and dignity, and instead of responding to the demands of the people and their legitimate rights, it responded to the voice of Satan and the advice of the tyrants and haters from their masters, doing away with the voice of reason and law. It instead unleashed the voice of bullets and the law of the jungle, choosing to attack the unarmed demonstrators with fire, humiliation and arrest. In the actual state of affairs in which there is no higher voice than that of the government and its masters, thus was the situation a year ago: dealings of violence, killing, arrests and eviction from which there was/has been no escape even for those participating/collaborating in the political process and bearing parliamentary immunity.* And every voice that had risen demanding rights, became wanted, condemned and one of a terrorist, because the wanted one is stripped of dignity and living in humiliation.
Oh enduring, steadfast people of Iraq,
We see today and a year after the beginning of your revolution of courage that the scene has not changed, but rather the tyranny of the tyrants has increased and the provinces rising up have been targeted in the ugliest manner possible wherever they have come between the hammer of the army and the anvil of the militias. And thus also in a short time the sectarian brigades and divisions have formed and mobilized to invade those provinces and implement the outline of their plan in demography and ethnicity.** In the same vein, the units holding to the land have been changed after ignominous fake and formal battles whose purpose is to remove control, spread the militias in those towns and give them an entirely free hand, for there is no law or deterrence except plundering, looting, killing, destruction and executions in the field, in the shadow of the operation to reform the forces of the army and the Interior and the hand over of all strategic and economic positions to the militias, like the dams, power stations, refineries and filtering stations, and others, in order to cement their control and rule, and that the Iranians may celebrate their seizure of the largest oil refinery in Iraq. Thus has the vision become clear, the nebulousness of the situation has vanished, and roles have been exchanged so that the equation may end with one loser which is the people of Iraq who will be abandoned to be deprived of decision-making and so that Iran may flourish on its imperial throne ruling from Lebanon to Yemen.***
Oh glorious revolutionaries,
You have indeed shown to your people the extent of your nobility, steadfastness, discipline, and courage, for your resistance was dependable and professional with the conduct of knights derived from the heritage of the history of your intrepid army, and here we would like to announce to our enduring Iraqi people that their revolution is continuing**** and their revolutionaries have not thrown aside their arms so long as there is an oppressor and tyrant, and the coming battle will be most violent and fierce.
And God is greater than every oppressive tyrant.
General Military Council for Iraq's Revolutionaries.

**- cf. This prior statement from the group speaking of plans for altering the demography of Iraq.
***- Iraq's Sunni insurgent actors generally interpret Yemen as a proxy war in which the Houthis are agents of Iran.
****- A line affirmed many times before by the group, indicating that still there is no concern to deal with the problem of the Islamic State, and the priority is to overthrow the present order.
